Socialization,
Socialization, Socialization!
The key to a happy and healthy dog is to
expose them directly to the very things they may fear; unfamiliar
surroundings, other dogs, and strange people.
The Canine Correction
team is a large family consisting of two people and four dogs. In
many cases, the whole team will be out for training to expose your
dog to a "pack" situation. This will help you to learn the language
your dog understands, the language of the pack. These are very
important tools and techniques needs to increase and improve your
dog's ability for interaction and socialization with other people
and other dogs.

Roland
Pearson
Owner/Operator of Canine
Correction and your dog's personal trainer. Roland has been around
dogs all his life and knows how dogs think and what they respond to.
His grandfather was an official trainer of seeing-eye dogs.
The knowledge, training and tips Roland picked from him has been
invaluable! Roland believes obedience training is to establish a
foundation from which you and your dog can learn to effectively
relate to one another. It creates a common language for you and your
dog. This, in turn, lets your dog know the proper response
(behaviour) that you expect in place of socially maladaptive
behavior.

Erin Maughan
Erin and her dog
Samson joined Canine Correction in mid-2008. Erin is Roland's right hand and
assists in the training sessions Roland conducts as well helps keep
our scheduled appointments running smoothly. Most of the pictures in
our gallery have been taken by Erin. Her key job is to capture the
training sessions as they happen. The pictures she takes are either
posted here on our website or are given as mementos to our clients.

Puck
Puck
is a Black Lab with a heart of gold. He is key to Roland's success
as a trainer. Puck is the first dog that the new trainees meet and
he
doesn't take it personally if the new dog acts aggressive.
Eventually through patience and love, Puck shows his willingness to
be sociable and to play with his new friends. He shows the trainee what a great
time they can have when they are friendly with other dogs that they
may meet throughout their lives.

Vegas
Vegas
is a beautiful and loveable Boxer.
She is an
invaluable part of the socialization team. She is extremely friendly and
shows the new trainees what it is all about when it comes to showing
affection and love to all the kids and adults around them. She can
also teach other dogs a thing or about "talking back" to the leader
of the pack. She is extremely vocal when things don't go her way.
How could you deny this face?

Sanchez
Sanchez is the latest addition to the Canine Correction Team. He is
a boxer just like Vegas but certainly has his own personality! His
potential as a "working dog" was great. He was originally a student
of Canine Correction but as fate has it, he turned out to come and
live in the family and is now a very important part of our regular
training program as is Puck and Vegas. Welcome Sanchez!
